Superman |
The Superman is an excellent exercise for strengthening the muscles of the low back as well as coordinating the muscles of the shoulder. Keep your feet against a wall to avoid injuring your self. Perform 3 sets of 10. |
(1)Begin with your feet against a wall, knees bent, and your stomach on a physioball. Then extend your legs so that you are straight. Keep you back in a neutral position (not flexed forward or arched backward) (2)Begin with your arms extended behind you. Your shoulders should be pressed down and back pushing your chest forward (see image). (3)Keeping your shoulders pressed back and down, bring your arms out to the level of your shoulders. (4)Now bring your arms in front of you like Superman continuing to keep your shoulders back and down. (5)Repeat steps 2-4 for each repetition. *Hold each arm position for 2-3 seconds then slowly move to the next. |
